What applies whatever the tradition?

Freedom of religion means that everyone should be able to have their needs for ceremonies and funeral customs met as far as is possible. That includes non-religious funerals.

At the same time everyone has to follow the laws and regulations that govern funeral services. Read more about what the law requires.
