What does a funeral cost?

A funeral with us starts at 12 485 kr. What it ends at depends on what you choose. You always receive an itemised quotation before anything is ordered.

What do the individual parts cost?

The coffin is the single largest item after our work. Our coffins cost between 6 995 kr and 15 450 kr, and the price for each model is on the page about coffins and urns. Floral arrangements start at 1 200 kr, see flowers for the funeral.

Beyond that there is often a death notice, which costs from around 4 500 kr for a single-column notice in Smålandsposten, and a memorial reception, where a simpler version with coffee starts at about 3 000 kr depending on the venue and the catering.

What does the burial fee cover?

The burial fee is paid through tax by everyone registered as resident in Sweden, whether or not they belong to the Church of Sweden. It covers, among other things, a grave plot for 25 years, cremation, certain transport within the cemetery authority’s area and a venue for a ceremony without religious symbols. It does not cover the coffin, the urn, flowers, the death notice, the memorial reception or our work.

Can you get help with the cost?

If the estate’s assets do not stretch to the funeral, you can apply for financial assistance from the municipality where the person who has died was registered as resident. The funeral must then be kept simple. Call us before you order anything and we will go through what applies in your situation.
